What is Zika?

Zika Virus, which was first detected in Uganda in 1947, is broadcast by AIDS mosquito. This is the same mosquito that transmits dengue, yellow fever, and chikungunya virus.

Although Zoka itself is not fatal, and symptoms of this disease pass within a week, but the main concern is that the mother has a devastating effect on the child born of this disease when it is infected. There is currently a scientific consensus that Zika virus is the cause of microcephaly and gilin-Barr syndrome. Zika is also being investigated in connection with other neurological complications.

If you follow any symptoms related to any zika in any member of your family or your family, then you need to immediately consult a family physician or a general practitioner. If you are pregnant or have returned after traveling in Zoka affected country then it is particularly important. To prevent the spread of infection, protect yourself against mosquito cutting.

How Does  Zika occur?

The Zika virus can be transmitted in the following ways:

  • An infected raise species through mosquito bites
  • blood transfusion
  • A pregnant woman to her unborn child or fetus
  • Through sexual intercourse (between vaginal, anal, and oral sex, and sharing of sexual toys, male-to-female, male to female, and male-to-male, sex partner. There is no confirmation yet Sexual transmission between sex partners. Zika virus can be transmitted through saliva during kissing.)
  • Through sexual intercourse (between vaginal, anal, and oral sex, and sharing of sex toys, male-to-female, male to female, and male-to-male, sex partner. There is no confirmation yet Sexual transmission between sex partners. Zika virus can be transmitted through saliva during kissing.)
Zika virus infected female Aedes Aegypti and Aedes Albopeptus mosquitoes are infected by humans. A mosquito after cutting an infected person, Zika virus enters mosquito's system, replicates in its body and spreads to its salivary glands. Incubate the mosquito for eight to ten days.

Soon after, when the mosquito fits on a person, the virus gets transmitted to the person. Incubation of ziko virus in one person occurs approximately three to 12 days after mosquito cutting.

During this time the virus travels through its body and spreads to different glands in the body. It enters the nervous system in the bloodstream, and from there.

Zika-related disorders

Guillain Barre Syndrome

When the zika virus attacks the nervous system, a small percentage of people from Gillin-Barre syndrome (a situation where your immune system attacks your nerves, causing muscle weakness and even paralysis) Disorders can occur.

The virus can also come into the brain and may cause other neurological symptoms. In these severe cases, instead of directly harming any person, the virus encourages the body's immune system to attack its nervous system.

Congenital malformations

On the contrary, in infants, researchers have observed that the virus directly attacks embryonic nerve cells and prevents normal development of the brain, which leads microcephaly.

It is believed that infection occurs during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Researchers have also speculated that the virus can damage the fetus, which can appear after many years of birth, and after the child grows up.

When the mother is infected, it is seen that the zika virus also appears in breastfeeding. However, there is currently no document of viruses transmitted to infants through breastfeeding.

Precautions related to sex and pregnancy against zika virus

In many cases, in the zicaria-infected areas, the virus has detected that the virus is detected in urine, vaginal fluid, saliva and urine in patients with urine. Experts have suggested that non-pregnant couples should do this with an infected partner:

  • 6 months after the first symptom appears, or after the last contact of the zika virus, before trying to conceive with the partner, if the person is infected.
  • 8 months after the first symptom appears, or after the last contact of the zika virus, before trying to get pregnant, if the woman is infected.
The time of long wait for man is due to the fact that even after recovering from the disease, evidence has been found in many cases of live zico virus in the semen of infected men. In fact, it has been found that zika virus can survive in the blood for long periods of semen.

Experts have also recommended that any couple should decide not to wait for sexual intercourse, they should use condoms continuously to prevent a healthy partner from getting infected.

Currently, there is no vaccine for the zico virus. If you travel in any country with active zico virus transmission then the best way to clean this zika virus is to protect against mosquito cutting.

Who is prone with zika?
  • Anybody cut by the AIDS mosquito carrying Zika virus
  • A person who has sex with Zika infected partner
  • Zika's pregnant infants infected pregnant women
  • Anyone who has transmitted blood to the infected blood
What are the symptoms of Zika? How is Zika diagnosed?

People infected with zika virus usually do not experience any symptoms or experience very mild symptoms. Mild symptoms, when they occur, are similar to dengue and chickengunia, they grow within 3 to 12 days and last up to about a week. Symptoms include:

  • fever
  • Red Spots
  • Conjunctivitis
  • a headache
  • Joint pain
  • Fatigue
  • Cheek swelling
  • to sweat
  • Chill
  • Vomit
  • bloodshot eyes.
Diagnosis

Diagnosis of zika virus infection can be confirmed through blood tests and laboratory tests of urine, saliva, and semen

What can cause Zika to cause complications?

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced to spread Zoka Virus as a public health emergency due to the complications arising from this virus. The most prominent complications include:

  • Severe dehydration
  • guillain-barre syndrome (A condition where your immune system attacks your nerves, causing muscle weakness and even paralysis)
  • Congenital malformations, especially microsephli
  • Abortion and miscarriage in pregnant women
  • premature birth
  • Problems with eye problems in babies with micacephyi related to zika, such as retina or optic nerve, which can later cause blindness in life
  • hearing impairment
  • Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), which is the brain and spinal cord swelling that damages the protective cover of the myelin or nerve fibers, gradually leads to visual impairment, and weakness at the point of paralysis.
What is the treatment for zika?

Currently, there is no specific drug for zika infection, nor is there any immunization, because scientists have long considered the virus to be benign. However, symptoms can be treated, so your doctor may suggest fever reducers and medicines for vomiting and tooth.

Immunizations are currently being developed.
