New Delhi: World Teachers 'Day, also called International Teachers' Day, is celebrated every year on October 5. World Teachers' Day is focused on "Appreciation, assessment and improvement of teachers of the world" and provides an opportunity to address issues related to teachers and teaching. Each year, a theme is chosen by UNESCO to mark the day. This year's World Teacher's Day theme is: "Right to education is the right to a qualified teacher.

While India celebrates Teachers' Day on the anniversary of the birth anniversary of the former Indian President Sarvavali Radhakrishnan, the world sees it on October 5. UNESCO mentioned on 5th October as "International Teacher's Day" to sign the "Teaching in Liberty" agreement, in a special intergovernmental convention held in Paris in 1966. The recommendation prompts the rights and responsibilities of teachers, recruitment, employment, teaching and learning situations. Today, the world celebrates the 70th anniversary of the United Nations adoption of the universal declaration of human rights in 1948.

Every year, UNESCO celebrates the day to promote the teaching profession. For the year 2018 the subject 'Right to education is the right to a qualified teacher'.

According to the United Nations, there is a wide "teacher difference" and to reach the 2030 education goals of universal primary and secondary education, around 69 million new teachers need to rent the world. This difference is more pronounced between girls, disabled children, refugees and migrant children, or poor children living in rural or remote areas.
